MEET JAMES STIGLET
WORKING WITH & FOR THE CITIZENS OF JONES COUNTY

My names is a James Stiglet, I am running as an Independent Candidate for Constable of Jones County - District 1. I am a life long resident of Jones County from the Rainey Community. I currently reside in the Rainey Community, I am married and a father of two beautiful daughters. I attended Moselle Elementary and graduated from South Jones High School in 1997. I then attended Jones County Junior College and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice in 2000.

My Law Enforcement career began in 2001 with the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office as a Correctional Officer. In 2004 I was employed by the Laurel Police Department, that same year I graduated from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy and became a fully certified Law Enforcement officer. In 2008 I began working for the Jones County Sheriff’s Department. In 2020 I began working for the Covington County Sheriff’s Office for a short time before returning to the Jones County Sheriff's Department.

I have worked in the Law Enforcement field for over 22 years. At which time I have had the honor and privilege of serving the citizens of Jones County for 14 of those years with the Jones County Sheriffs Department. I am still employed with the Jones County Sheriff's Department and have served in many different capacities over the years. I have worked with many State and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies over the course of my career on a variety of cases. These agencies including: Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Alcohol Beverage Control, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, and Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms.
During the past 22 years of my career I have worked in just about every aspect of law enforcement including: Corrections Officer, Patrol, K9 Handler, Shift Supervisor, MBN Contract Agent, Narcotics Investigator, and Criminal Investigator. During that time I worked Hundreds of Felony Cases, primarily Drug Cases, which helped lead to multiple arrest and convictions of numerous individuals as well as the seizure and removal of large quantities of narcotics from our County.

I believe that I am the most qualified candidate to serve as the next Constable of District 1 because of my extensive knowledge of the county and its communities from personal experience interacting with the citizens of Jones County over the years. I have had the pleasure of working with many fine men and woman over the years which has helped me be come a better law enforcement officer. Growing up I was taught that everyone should be treated with the same respect as you would want to be treated and I do my best to abide by that daily .​

If elected I promise to represent the citizens of Jones County and the office of Constable in a professional manner, with Honesty, Integrity and Respect. I will make myself available to answer any and all questions you may have. All processes will be served in a professional and timely manner according to the law.
I humbly ask for your support and vote in the November 7th General Election. Please help elect me Constable of Jones County - District 1 and allow me to bring my experience and dedication to service to the Office of Constable.
